 The Extreme Event is expected to host thousands of people and approximately 300 top competitors from around the world in 2008, and also boasts over $140,000 in prizes up for grabs for competitors. It is certainly a family atmosphere that is presented as a weekend-long festival including Extreme Motorsports, Charity Auctions and Draws with 100% of proceeds being donated to Miramichi Youth House, a Media Day where media from around the world will experience the thrill of racing against their peers, a Midway of Interactive Exhibits, a Family Day with free Children's Activities, Fireworks, Live Music, an International Cruise of competition vehicles in the City Of Miramichi, Sampling of Atlantic Canada Cuisine and much more.

THE MIRAMICHI YOUTH HOUSE is located on the shores of the Miramichi River and is a community-based organization dedicated to helping youth-at-risk. Since it’s establishment in 1998, Miramichi Youth House, Inc. has been developing programs and services in order to provide youth, aged 16 - 19, with the care they need. No other agency or organization on the Miramichi or in Northern New Brunswick serves the 16 - 19 age group; therefore, we are not creating duplication. In fact, we are the only co-ed Emergency Transitional Youth Housing Facility in New Brunswick. The existence of a governmental service gap also prevents these 16 - 19 year olds from getting help and allows most of them to slip through this unfortunate crack in the system. The onus falls directly on our Miramichi Youth House to provide these youth with the support and care that the government cannot. Miramichi Youth House provides for local youth, as well a youth from all over the Province of New Brunswick, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. |

 THE MISSION OF THE MIRAMICHI YOUTH HOUSE - “Miramichi Youth House, Inc. is a community based not-for-profit organization whicl believes action is needed to create a safe and secure environment for all youth, by providing opportunities for youth-at-risk to develop and grow positively within their family, their community, and their school. PROGRAMS OFFERED BY MIRAMICHI YOUTH HOUSE include - Temporary Transitional Housing 24 hrs/day, 7 days a week - 624-9909. Temporary housing for male and female youth 16 - 19 in times of crisis and emergencies. This program will offer a place for young people to live, meeting their basic needs and their overall well-being. Youth will be encouraged to address their educational and employment needs as well as basic life and social well being, youth will be supported with any issues they may be encountering.

 Resource Centre - 7 days a week from 9:00 am - 9:00 pm. Open to ALL youth 16 - 19 whether they are utilizing the Transitional Housing Program or not.
